WSU CAREER. JUNIOR (2000-01): Indoor - Struggled with injuries…did not place at MPSF Championships…but came back for three PRs at Moscow Last Chance Meet (3/3/01) in the 60m hurdles (8.50i), 400m (50.07i) and pole vault (4.45m/14-7 1/4i)…Outdoor - Tallied a lifetime-best 3500 points in the first day of the Baldy Castillo Meet Decathlon, but no-heighted in the pole vault and ended in fifth place with 6,186 points (3/23/01, Tempe)…scored a lifetime-best and NCAA Provisional Qualifying 7,169 points for fourth place at the Pac-10 Championships (5/13/01, Berkeley)…had PRs in the 100m dash, high hurdles, high jump, pole vault and discus.

SOPHOMORE (1999-2000): Indoor - Struggled because of lingering mononucleosis symptoms…didn't compete after first three meets of season…Outdoor - Did not compete.

FRESHMAN (1998-99): Indoor - Competed in seven different events during the debut collegiate indoor season in preparation for the decathlon competition…Outdoor - Opened the season with first decathlon scoring 6,432 points for a 12th place finish at the Arizona Multi Invitational (3/18/99, Tucson)…mostly ran both high and intermediate hurdles in meets while improving on field events…finished fourth at Pac-10 Combined Events Championships with 6,734 points.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Lettered in track all three years at Eastlake High School in Redmond, Wash., for coach Mark Eagers…during senior year, captained undefeated track team…won both hurdles and high jump at KingCo conference meet…finished second at state 4A meet in both 110m high hurdles (14.45), and 300m intermediate hurdles (37.70), and seventh in the high jump at 6-4…set school records of 14.33 in 110m hurdles and 37.70 in 300m hurdles...best high jump of year was 6-8…also ran leg of school record 1600m relay…won most valuable team member…top times as junior were 38.54 for 300m hurdles and 14.60 in high hurdles…won both high and intermediate hurdles races at conference meet…finished second in the 300m hurdles at state 3A meet where team won championship and ended year undefeated…honored with Joe Bolger most inspirational award by team…as a sophomore placed second in intermediates at KingCo conference meet…39.88 best time…Eastlake track team was undefeated at 10-0…named team's most inspirational.

PERSONAL. Born Steven Michael Dwyer 6/11/79 at Ventura, California…father Scott is a toxicology consultant who attended WSU…mother Mary is a homemaker…younger sisters Carrie (9/3/80), Jane (5/4/92), and Emily (3/31/94)…uncle Russ Wiseman, played football for the Cougars in 1982…majoring in business.
